… The city’s proposed city zoning code update is massive, comprehensive and complex. We urge homeowners, renters and business owners to review the plan and let their voice be heard. If approved, it will be more difficult to contest future building plans that conform to the new code.

As the cost to rent and buy here continue to soar, nowhere near the 14,000 to 19,000 housing units a Building Industry Association of Central Ohio funded report says should be constructed each year to keep up with growth are being built.

It is vitally important to get it right if Columbus — by far the largest municipality in central Ohio — is to be diverse and affordable in the future. …
